Nina Avalon (1981) is a Dutch-based sculptor who specializes in creating delicate art pieces using a 3D pen. At the age of 12, Nina began her dance journey, eventually reaching the pinnacle of success in the Dutch Ballroom dance scene while simultaneously studying Graphic Design at the University of Rotterdam. Balancing her studies with her dance training was demanding, but she persevered and excelled in both endeavors.

Despite her many dance titles and accomplishments, Nina felt that something was missing. For her, the ephemeral nature of dance did not fulfill her creative needs. It was about capturing a momentary feeling, but it could not be held or touched. After 20 years of a successful dance career, Nina decided to pursue other avenues for expression.

Nina tried various forms of art, including photography and fine art drawing, before her husband gifted her a 3D pen for her birthday. At the time, 3D pen technology was relatively new, and few people knew how to use it. However, Nina’s persistence and creativity led her to develop her own unique style and technique, and she now uses the 3D pen to express herself in a way that she finds fulfilling.
